The European Space Agency (ESA), established in 1975 and headquartered in Paris, is a multinational European agency dedicated to exploring space. The ESA consists of 22 member states and has a projected 2019 budget of 6.6 billion dollars. Major projects of the ESA include manned and unmanned spaceflight, telecommunication, spacecraft design, and exploration missions to the Moon and other interplanetary bodies.
